The institute which was started in 1987,functions directly under the Union Ministry of Agriculture and is now the apex institution for agricultural extension management in the country
It has excellent infrastructure facilities in terms of equipment, cyber connectivity etc. It keeps a farmer focused approach in this activity. It's two years PGPABM launched originally in 1996 aims at enabling agricultural graduates to acquire the critical competencies to function as effective agri business managers. The curriculum includes areas such as communication skills/organizational behavior, general/human resources/finance/marketing/strategic management, marketing research and project planning

Opportunities

Since the institute maintains industry-institute interface on contemporary issues, undertake sponsored research studies and conduct international training programmes sponsored by the United Nation Office for project services, food and agricultural organization, Department for international development and the world bank, the students get excellent opportunities for exposure to practical problems at national and international level

Mode of selection

The selection of candidate will be through a Computer Based Objective Test (CBOT) to be held in May at one or more centers. The date of the test will be provided in the hall ticket
