Major Changes In Entrance Examination System

Plus Two Candidates, who had’nt taken chemistry as their subject, can also write engineering entrance.

Certain changes have been made this year for students writing the entrance examination. Those who have not studied chemistry in Plus Two classes can also write the engineering entrance examination. But the questions from chemistry will be included. The special feature is that those who have studied biology with mathematics and physics can also write the engineering entrance. The rules hither to were that only those have learnt mathematics, Physics and chemistry were eligible. But none need dream to come out successful without answering question from chemistry.

Those who are awaiting Plus Two results and those who passed the plus two (minimum 50% marks) can appear for the entrance examination. Candidates who have joined degree classes (without securing 50% in higher secondary) can write entrance exam if they completed their degree(physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biochemistry as main or subsidiary) with average 50% marks.Such students can join M.B.B.S, B.D.S, B.A.M.S, BSc(Nursing), Bsc. MLT, B.S.M.S, if they secure rank in the entrance.

One seat of M.B.B.S is reserved for BEd holders. Admission will be based on entrance marks. This reservation is in self financed colleges and so will depend on legal verdicts. For engineering, there will be one seat each for jews and Anglo Indians . Formerly it was for alternate years only.

Weightage will be given for Plus two marks while deciding the rank for B.Arch. For those who are interested in Architecture have separate aptitude test. Those who have secured 35% in Plus Two can also appear for engineering entrance. But to find place in rank list they will have to secure atleast 10% in the entrance test. Application form fee is 700 and for scheduled caste it is 350. Totally 150 examination centers are arranged including Dubai and Delhi besides District Head quarters.
