The
world is going through a digital revolution now. Most of the
operations and system related to mankind are being digitalised.
Among them ,a significant part is being made in communication
systems. And in the history of communication systems, an important
landmark was the invention of Cellular phones.
Unlike
the older mobile systems used for telecommunication ,the cellular
phones have more mobility ;it's more compact and easier to
handle .The tecnologies governing the mobile devices are improving
at lightning speed. Just a few years ago ,your expensive ,bulky
mobile phone was nothing but analogue device mostly used by
business people for voice communication .Today the wireless
technology is digital .The socalled 2nd generation phones(2G),which
allow transmitting speech in digital format over radio path,
are in existence .The technology used in 2C phones is TDMA(Time
Division Multiple Access).
After
the introduction of European system GSM(Global System For
Mobile Communication),the mobile phones were made to have
global usage ,DCS(Digital Cellular Service),chatting was made
cheaper .With WAP(Wireless Application Protocol),the internet
facility was also integrated into Cellular Phones.
The
latest CDMA(Coded Division Multiple Access)Technology allows
huge amounts of data ,whether it is speech or video ,to be
transmitted over air .The more advanced version of this WCDMA(Wideband
Coded Division Multiple Access) was adopted as the worldwide
standard for 3G(3rd Generation)phones .In advanced phones
like Nokia 3530,since it is incorporated with MMS(Multimedia
Messaging Service) facility ,user can easily send and receive
pictures ,videos ,etc.
Bluetooth
technology is another prominent evolution in this context
.It enables our home appliances to be controlled in a smart
way ,which can be pre-programmed ,by the handset we are keeping
with us .Once they are active ,we don't have to bother about
the operations of the household items like Television ,Refrigerator
,etc .since all of these will be working under the instructions
from our handsets.
With
the evolution of GPRS(General Packet Radio Service)the cellular
infrastructure is gradually migrating from 3G to 4G(4th generation)technology.4G
services are combining high-speed mobile access with service
based on IP(Internet Protocol),resulting in improved wireless
communications ,delivered with greater cost effectiveness
and significantly richer content.
It
has got a peak speed of more than 100Mbits in stationary mode
,with an average of 20Mbits when travelling .Network capacity
of 4G will be atleast 10 times that of 3G.
Many
other facilities like T.V ,Digital Camera,MP3 player ,etc.
are also being integrated into Cellular Phones .Almost all
major players Nokia , Samsung ,Motorola ,Mitisubishi , Siemens
,Ericsson ,etc.-are developing mobile phones keeping the most
popular uses in mind:
Communication
,Productivity ,Information Access ,Entertainment .As a result
of the convergence of these multiple devices into single unit
,the next generation cellular phone handset will be a miniature
version of Personal Computers.
The number of mobile phones users worldwide is increasing
at an enormous rate .It is estimated that India alone holds
a whopping amount of around 1.5 crores of Mobile Phone connections.
But
unfortunately many of them don't even know how to maneuver
it correctly .As a result ,most of these fall into errors
making damage to the instrument .Also other factors like humid
air ,dust ,moisture ,etc .also make problem to the device.
Consequently
,a person who knows how to rectify the faults of the machines
can gain here .That is because once he procures the knowledge
for servicing mobile phones ,he can obtain a decent job anywhere
in the world.
