Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology was established at Kalady with the  aim of providing value added technical education with a flair of professional excellence and  ethical values. The College is run by ADI SANKARA TRUST, a registered trust which has carved a niche in the education arena by running Sree Sankara College and Sree Sarada  Vidyalaya, both at Kalady. Prof S.Gopalakrishna Iyer is currently heading the Engineering Institution.

The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and offers undergraduate courses approved by AICTE in the following disciplines.

The college plans to offer following additional Degree Courses: a) Applied Electronics and Instrumentation b) Post Graduate course in M.B.A, (subject to approval by AICTE, New Delhi, during the next academic year 2004-05). The duration for the completion of B.Tech Degree course is 4years (8 semesters). The annual intake is 60 students per batch.

IAn unaided B.Ed College under the management of Adi Shankara Trust (Regd.) Kalady.  The College is affiliated to M.G. University, Kottayam and is recognised by NCTE,  Southern Regional Committee, Banglore, 1 year B.Ed Prorgamme in Mathematics, Physical  Science, Natural Science, Commerce, English and Social Studies. M.Ed Programme will be introduced in 2006-07 (Sub. to approval). 50% of the seats allotted to the management are filled as per the directions of the State Government and affiliating University.
